If they are going to make a new brand they are going to have to up the quality because compared to their competitors it isn't there. $60k is a lot of coin for a car that has more road noise than a civic. And that is just for starters.

I addressed that about 2/3s down. The LS made Lexus because it was the greatest lux car ever AND it was cheaper.

No I know. I saw that. I just meant if they want the Equus to become the LS they need to do exactly the same and not half ass it like they currently are.

"10 years ago, if anyone had predicted that Kia and Hyundai would be the next automotive superpower, they'd been laughed out of the industry"
I think you accidentally a word.

Oh I know. And I think the rebranding would help with that. It would no longer to need to fit into the Hyundai line or price scheme. It's already too expensive "for a Hyundai", but they could add 10k to the baseline to redo the interior and experience, and it would be livable as a Genesis brand product.

... they'd have been laughed out of the industry.
Think about it without the contraction:
... they would been laughed out of the industry.
vs.
... they would have been laughed out of the industry.

Nope I was the one last week that got two articles on TST and then everyone starting asking how I did that!

Nice! Did Matt work your articles out with you or did he pass them through? I don't know if it's good or bad that he had me tweak and add stuff. ._.

Crap. See, when I read that, the contraction covers the missing word for me.
I'm from the South...

I sent him a few article ideas, he let me know which ones he liked. I wrote them and sent them back. He said which ones out of those were good and ran them. I had my wife and a few others edit them first.

I sent him two...he didn't like the first asked me to tweak it. I told him just to run the second one.

My dad has a 2012 Genesis sedan, that is badged solely as a Genesis, No Hyundai badges anywhere unless you look closely. People don't know what it is and some have even asked if it is a Mercedes or a Bentley. Now these are people who don't know cars very well, but its an indication of perceived luxury. The V6 is a wonderful engine and it is quiet and has an excellent ride. The interior is very nice, and has an amazing sound system, but overalls it is not quite up to the level of the Germans. The Genesis is a great car, and it is only getting better, but it needs to separate from Hyundai to really succeed.

That's the whole problem though. At this point, Hyundai had to hide its name to sell the car. Instead, let's flip that, start building brand recognition, and make people start looking at the car as something to aspire to.
